Dispensary: High Got You

Rating: 4.5 leaves

I tried Mimosa Evo twice in one day, once in the afternoon through a “Sticky Brick” at the High Got You dispensary; and again at home using my trusty dry vaporizer.  The effects were a bit different, but both interesting, fun and positive.

Mimosa Evo is one of the strains which High Got You grows specifically for an up-country hospital. The buds are large, fluffy, dusty, slightly dense with a pale green color. The odor is gassy almost like body odor (in a good way), sweet, very fruity, and incredibly grapefruit like.

The taste, both from the sticky brick and the dry vape, is delicious, a strong sweet grapefruit flavor with a menthol minty finish. The taste is intense and will wake any user up.

Mimosa Evo is an indica leaning hybrid. I initially used it in the early afternoon with a “Sticky Brick”. A device I used for the first time at the urging of High Got You’s proprietors. The Sticky Brick is a non-electric vape device which uses a butane lighter to concentrate all the vape in a few hits.  I took one massive vape hit from the Sticky Brick and was surprised by the intensity and size of the hit and the amount of vapor which came out.

The afternoon effects of Mimosa Evo were moderate and controllable.  A head high set in quickly followed by a relaxation in my legs and arms. I was able to traverse the walkway to the BTS and then the BTS ride from High Got You all the way to my home near Prakanong. The journey was perhaps slower than usual, but pleasant and I was happily aware of everything and everyone around me. Once home I did a bit of drafting, with full concentration, more focused but slower than usual. Eventually, I grew slightly tired and floated peacefully in the swimming pool for the remaining daylight hours.

Later that night, when I was relaxed but no longer high, I decided to try to recreate the effects of the Sticky Brick with my trusty dry vape. I took a couple hits at 180 C, just to savor the delicious flavor of Mimosa Evo, and then shot the temperature up to 205 C. This resulted in the ingestion of a few gigantic heavy clouds of vape (and a bit of coughing).

The effects were immediate, pleasant, with a heavy relaxed feeling in the body and a heaviness in the mind. I tried to watch a documentary, but the relaxation continued to grow and I succumbed to the indica effects drifting off peacefully, and happily to sleep. Indeed, I slept continuously until breakfast time.

Mimosa Evo is a very pleasant strain. I was happily functional during the day and enjoyed the high. My late night experiments with the herb sedated me. But even this sedation was pleasant, happy, and easy to digest—though I should point out I did wake up with a bit of heaviness in my head. All in all, this is a strain which I would recommend to all users. Experienced users should expect a full character hybrid with a strong indica finish. New users should experiment with this strain cautiously, there are no negative effects, but users will ultimately end up blissfully asleep. Prepare accordingly.
