The following diary entry is shared to provide insight into my personal use of cannabis to alleviate a series of medical and health issues.
Dopamine is a cultivar that recently came onto my radar. I was curious to try it and super lucky to have Canis send me one of his Dopamine buds in a “fun package of treats”. Canis’s bud is deep and dark, black, with white dusting and sparse green hairs. The bud has layers of aromas starting with a heavy pine which gets to the edge of gas, sweet earth, yeasty cookies, and multiple spices, including pepper, nutmeg and a clove infused orange peel. This orange is really interesting because it is not the orange of Emergen-C and other orange leaning buds, but rather the aroma experienced in fine dark chocolate infused with orange. Indeed, that flavor of orange infused chocolate, cloves, spiced fruits, and gassy pine all come through beautifully in the taste. The flavors and aromas are so novel, different and delicious, I kept a little bit on the side to vape later!
The high is as novel as the flavors and aromas. Super heady, a bit trippy, elevated and uplifting but not necessarily euphoric. Instead, I found the high to be introspective, with a clear vision of self, and dreamy focus on the world (in my case I was focused outside this world on the faint stars I could see from my Bangkok balcony). My senses where completely engaged—music and dark chocolate satisfied my soul and taste buds—and I was incredibly happy to see and be around Mrs. Mendel (she did not partake in Dopamine and wasn’t as thrilled to be by me).
I highly recommend Canis’s Dopamine to experienced consumers. Everything about this bud is unique and novel and Canis still is growing at a level which is hard to compete with. The high is pretty trippy and may be a bit overwhelming for novice consumers (or it may delight those who are more daring), but for this experienced medical consumer, I absolutely loved it and look forward to vaping this bud to learn a bit more about it.
