Grower: Rach Rollers

Rating: 4.4

The following diary entry is shared to provide insight into my personal use of cannabis to alleviate a series of medical and health issues.

Permanent Kush from Rach Rollers opens with a (neo) classically composed aroma โ€” sweet, earthy, and spiced at the core, pine adding backbone, citrus and fruit threading through with brightness, and bits of rubber giving the whole profile an edge of funkiness that keeps it honest and interesting. Grinding the bud rewards generously, the spice, fruit citrus, and rubber notes opening up with greater clarity and intensity, confirming that this is a cultivar of real aromatic depth. The flavor is smooth โ€” matching the aroma with consistency, earthy and pine-forward, fruity and citrus-bright, with sweet, rubber, and spice rounding the experience into something complete and well-structured. It is a very good smoke โ€” coherent, well-executed, and deeply enjoyable from first pull to last.

Permanent Kush, however, is a creeper of the most deliberate and authoritative kind โ€” and that is its defining characteristic. What begins as a pleasant, composed, and seemingly manageable experience reveals itself, with quiet and unhurried patience, to be considerably more. Relaxation turns to stones with gradually but with conviction, muscles releasing into a dreamy, relaxed ease, the mind drifting away from any ambition toward concentration, or  in my case note-taking, tasks that become, as the session progresses, a genuine struggle. The joint was put down at the halfway point and I let go of the world. That says everything. By the time Permanent Kush has fully arrived, the consumer is stoned in the most complete and functional-capacity-reducing sense of the word, and any plans made before lighting up are best considered optimistic.

I highly recommend Permanent Kush to experienced consumers who appreciate a classic, well-rounded kush aroma and flavor profile and a high that delivers a slow-building, deeply stoning effect of real power and conviction. Rach Rollers has produced a cultivar of deceptive strength here โ€” approachable in its opening and absolute in its conclusion. Novice consumers should approach with considerable caution, and experienced consumers would do well to clear their schedule before the second half of the joint becomes academic.
