Grower: Mari Wonka

Rating: 4.4

Tea Time is a crazy bud—a work of art for sure—but all art is subjective. From an aesthetic point of view, like all of Mari’s buds, Tea Time is beautiful, plush and springy, with a deep extreme dark green base with yellowish brown highlighted hairs, a slight frosting on the outside and an intense visible stickiness on the inside. That stickiness when isolated on the fingers has a distinct sweet candy fruit aroma. But the bud itself hits the nostrils with a spicy essence—like getting hit by a street vendor cooking krapao—and then reveal a floral, sweet and hoppy essence similar to a sweet fruity beer with aftertastes of spring onion. The flavor is bittersweet, hoppy and spicy—reminiscent more of a fine whiskey than of beer. As the joint burns down further savory notes of oregano, onion and cheese come out similar to a plain pizza. The smoke is rougher than usual—but by no means unpleasant.

The high is profound and should be enjoyed during the day—or at least during times when sleep is far off. The brain works throughout the high at full capacity, churning, developing, adjusting, creating, calculating, processing all accompanied by a pressure surrounding the head, from the temples, around the eyes, and behind the ears.   When engaged, reading, and especially when listening to music, the high is super charged, energetic, with the body tapping into the heady energy of the bud. But, when the body is at rest and the mind not engaged, the brain tends to slip into daydreams with the body listlessly blending into the furniture. However, even in the daydreamy listless state, the consumer is far from sleep and will be challenged to sleep with this high.

I highly recommend this bud to experienced consumers. I found Tea Time to be high art with incredibly interesting, rich and developed flavors and aromas, and an energetic engaged high. Super interesting and awe inspiring but not necessarily to my own taste—but definitely mandatory consumption for any serious (and advanced) student of cannabis.  Probably not for novice consumers.
