Grower: Canna Catz
Rating: 4.4
The following diary entry is shared to provide insight into my personal use of cannabis to alleviate a series of medical and health issues, inclusive of insomnia and loss of appetite.
Itโs been about ten years since Zkittlez came around and has since established itself, mostly through its progeny, as a bud of note. I have mixed feelings about many of its descendantsโbut rarely engage with Zkittlez itself so I was pretty interested to dive into this sample from Canna Catz. As expected from a grower of Canna Catzโs caliber, the aromas where on point, loud sour citrus dominating the essence, with other fruity notes of grape and red berry, with earth and pepper waiting to be uncovered through the cloud of sour sweet fruit. A dry pull reveals a โmouth smellโ of lime, pepper, earth and pine which then is so smoothly translated into the flavor upon combustion. Indeed, the citrus dominance of the aroma gives way for more balance with the grape, and spicey earthy notes.
Zkittlez came through with a measured, awake and focused heady high which lasted for at least an hour in a state of productivity, creativity, thoughtfulness, with a slight pressure around the forehead. Eventually, and slowly, the bud did get into my body, leaving me still in an engaged mindful state but with a noticeable ritardando of those thoughts as well as the muscles, leading to a more laid-back moodโbut never sedating.
I highly recommend Zkittles to those who love the modern fruity buds. This is a cornerstone of modern fruity budsโand from an educational and historical point of view it is super interesting to experience the earthy, spicy pepper (and hidden pine) which exists in what is otherwise is celebrated for its candy like qualities. Novice consumers, come to this bud in moderation, but come nonetheless.
