Dr. Green Bangkok is a warm and cozy three story dispensary located across Asoke from Soi Cowboy, a short five minute walk from the BTS(Asoke) and MRT(Sukhumvit) stations. The décor is all green, inclusive of cannabis plants related to those buds harvested and available in the shop. The staff is friendly and welcoming; the vibe is positive, healthy and relaxed. Ten strains sit on the counter which greet the customer on the ground floor. Smoking tools, rolling papers and beverages are all available behind the counter. A second floor lounge allows customers to relax and enjoy complimentary drinks and roll their own joints with the use of communal rolling papers and grinder. A third floor is currently under development which promises to provide customers unique cannabis experiences and may feature growing equipment, seeds, lights, tents and nutrients. The space will also be used for workshops on how to use, grow and clone cannabis plants. Dr. Green’s strains are the center point of the establishment and are professionally grown either by Dr. Green or by local partner farmers. The strains, a diverse group including two unique CBD strains, are arranged based on price (THB 75 to THB 850) and potency. The shop’s strains are high quality and professionally grown and curated. The flowers are grown with a medicinal view in mind and the quality corresponds with the care given to the plants. Customers are invited to judge the quality themselves with smell tests and close views under each strain’s own magnifying apparatus. The staff stands ready to describe each strain, its effects and its origins. The goal of the shop “is to be a safe place, with a family vibe, where anyone can come, even if it's just for a talk or to learn about the plant.”

Dr. Green: Surgeon

Dr. Green is a successful surgeon and educator passionate about the use of cannabis for medicinal purposes. She was amongst the first doctors to apply for a medical cannabis license in Thailand when it became available four years ago and is a strong advocate for the use of cannabis as a treatment for ailments. A month after cannabis’s legalization, Dr. Green MD opened Dr. Green Bangkok, the dispensary, with her friend and business partner to provide access to cannabis from a medicinal and health point of view. Dr. Green’s passion for cannabis corresponds to that of the Hippocratic Oath: doing no harm, respecting previous scientific gains, and developing and sharing knowledge. “Cannabis is far more than just a way to get high. THC is the most famous cannabinoid but we cannot forget about CBD, CBG, CBN, THCV and terpenes, all well known for their various medicinal properties on top of being able to enhance the therapeutic properties of cannabis. That is why we are involved in farming and research. In the near future we will present specific locally grown strains covering all types of cannabinoids. There is so much potential in cannabis, we have a duty to continue exploring and discovering the health benefits.”

Dr. Green and her team have been legally growing Cannabis for the last two years with an emphasis on high quality CBD. “We were growing potent CBD strains indoors for extraction purposes to make CBD oils.
