Legal situation

Cannabis is currently delisted from the list of narcotics. This means, it can be bought, carried around and consumed without any worries of getting busted by the Royal Thai Police. But Cannabis extracts and hash are still not delisted and only allowed for medical use or with a concentration of active compounds under 0.2%, even though these products might be available in dispensaries. 
Be aware that the public consumption can be seen as a public nuisance which comes with either a hefty fine of up to 20,000 Baht or imprisonment of up to 3  months, so use common sense and be respectful. Don’t smoke in crowded areas or any area where children might see you. 
You will get conflicting informations regarding edibles and their legal status from different cannabis dispensaries in Bangkok. Edibles are not illegal if they are produced by the dispensary itself. If the dispensary sells edibles from another company, these edibles need FDA approval. The only edibles with FDA approval that we are aware of, are the delicious cookies by Baked.
Weed shops are  actually legally required to Ask for the ID of their customers, so don’t wonder if you get asked for your ID or passport. But from our experience and information this is not really enforced by most dispensaries.

 We know your feeling…you are craving for them unhealthy snacks from your home country, when you are stoned!  And the selection of 7-11 is just not big enough to satisfy this need. If you are from the US, Australia or the UK, chances are high, that your needs are covered by one of the supermarket chains that carry a lot of imported goods. 
Villa Market has the biggest selection of snacks among them all and they always have some specials going on, where they sell stuff that is usually not available. The prices for most of the things are really expensive compared to the prices you would pay back home. 
Another option is Gourmet Market which is located on the bottom floor of some Malls in Bangkok like EmQuartier or Terminal 21 for example. As a white guy it looks like that here asian folks have the highest chance to find what they are looking for, but don’t take this information for granted. Gourmet Market carries also a lot of chips, chocolate and cookies from the US and Europe. If you are craving for cheese or sausages from back home, they might have you covered!
