The following diary entry is shared to provide insight into my personal use of cannabis to alleviate a series of medical and health issues.
Iris is a striking and memorable cultivar, delivering an aroma and flavor profile that manages to be both forceful and refined at the same time. The nose is immediately powerful, driven by heavy gas and noticeable fruit, but it unfolds with impressive nuance. Bright lemon citrusโalmost like a lemon squashโleads the fruit expression, while the gas evolves into a complex mix of deep musk, pine, eucalyptus, and menthol, all accented by a subtle spiced edge. Itโs loud and pungent, but layered delicately, rewarding slow appreciation. The flavor takes a differentโbut relatedโpath. It leans fullon soapy, with varying levels of floral expression, most notably lavender notes. While the flavor doesnโt perfectly recreate the aromatic profile note for note, it absolutely mirrors it in spirit. Aroma and flavor are distinct in their individual characteristics, but unmistakably belonging together.
The high is strong. This is a fullon happy, euphoric stoned experience, and the potency cannot be overstated. I smoked only half a joint before falling asleep on my balcony, woke up just long enough to relocate to the couch, ate an unreasonable amount of food, and promptly fell asleep again. The effect is deeply satisfying, thoroughly intoxicating, and sedating.
I highly recommend Iris to experienced consumers looking for a profoundly pungent cultivar with both power and finesse. Every aspect of this budโfrom aroma to flavor to effectโwas a pleasure, and I loved the experience start to finish. That said, this is absolutely not suitable for novice consumers. Iris is simply too strong. For seasoned tokers, however, this is an exceptional and memorable experience from start.
