This is the third bud I’ve tried from Mari Wonka’s latest harvest—and I am very impressed. Her buds were really good in 2024—but they have elevated to the next level in 2025. Mocha Truffle is a great example—the bud has layers of nuanced aromas and flavors which work so well together and are clearly grown with care and expertise. The bud has a base aroma which is nutty, earthy, with sweet caramel and with added accents of ammonia fumes, sour coffee and a chili essence which hits the back of the throat. The flavor is super rich with the taste of dark chocolate covered espresso beans and an ammonia note, which caught me by surprise and made me cough, but converts into a smoother peaty herbal and chili conclusion.
The high is extremely strong. Indeed, even though I only smoked half a J, I was knocked out hard and could barely function or communicate after combusting this bud. A true heavy hitter.
I highly recommend Mocha Truffle to the most experienced consumers who are looking for elite quality heavy hitters. The flavors and aromas are incredible—I really love them—but the high is a bit too strong for me and definitely too strong for novice or casual consumers. I respect that there are consumers out there who either consume smaller amounts than me—or are looking for that heavy experience. But, similar to my experiences with Golden Temple’s buds—I’ll probably return to this one with a dry vaporizer so that I can control the strength.
