Grower: Rach Rollers

Rating: 4.3

The following diary entry is shared to provide insight into my personal use of cannabis to alleviate a series of medical and health issues, inclusive of insomnia and loss of appetite.

I had a hard time rating Red Snapper.  There are things about it that I love.  There are things about it which I think objectively are limiting. And then there are things about this bud that I personally donโ€™t gravitate to, but I know thereโ€™s a huge demand for.

First what I loveโ€”the aroma is gassy, sweet sesame like halva, fruity with both a bananas and overripe tropical fruit dankness, and a milky coffee โ€œmouth smellโ€ from the dry pull. A truly excellent aroma.

The flavor itself is good with a sweet, gassy, earthy and fruity taste.  Pretty classic and familiar at this point in cannabis history. But while the smoke is flavorful, it is also a bit rough and scratchy. I am a consumer who takes rather large hits off my joint and each time I took a normal hit for myself, I ended up coughing up a lung. This could be on me, and I did adjust the hits I was taking. But the smoke was rougher than the other Rach Rollersโ€™ buds I have been sampling as of late and I had too many coughing fits.

The high is an area where I was completely unprepared. I took three or four hits and then prepared to film a short reel about the bud but found it hard to speak normally and function. This bud is strong and it left me stoned very fast. I was a bit overwhelmed by the strength which caught me by surpriseโ€”but I do have to admire the fact that the bud left me in an other worldly state while still keeping me awake (until I wasnโ€™t awake). I know there is a group of people out there who will absolutely love this highโ€”and are looking for this high. Sometimes that includes me . . . but not as a daily go to.

And yet, I find myself at the end of this review thinking that I want to try this bud again. This time in more moderation and with more control . . . but I do want to try it again and come to it with a different mentality and preparedness. For now, do I recommend it? I suppose I do. Experienced consumers looking for a heavy hitting dank smelling budโ€”this is it, youโ€™ll love Red Snapper. Novice consumers, donโ€™t even think of itโ€”if you want Red Snapper get fish.
