The Keeper is a bud I am keen on, so I was excited to see Humble Gardens take their (very capable) hand to it. Their iteration is a superb combination of sandalwood, spice, and vanilla, with mixed citrus and berry fruit-candy sweetness riding alongside a pine note that leans pungent. On the smoke, the flavor leans heavily into the spice and sweet sandalwood, with a firm touch of that same pine. The candy-citrus fruitiness is present, but it’s more of a supporting note—an accent that keeps the profile bright while the wood and spice do the heavy lifting. It’s layered, clear and true, and absolutely delicious.
The high is feel-good euphoria right out of the gate, with a spark of energy that quickly dissolves into sensual relaxation—while creativity and productivity stay online. It finishes with a genuine sleepiness.
I highly recommend Humble Gardens’ The Keeper to all consumers. I’m a huge fan of this cultivar and feel lucky to have tried it from three excellent growers—each iteration has its own special charm—but I am particularly drawn to the sandalwood-forward character of this one. As mentioned earlier, this is a feel good bud which is appropriate for all consumers.
