Dispensary:  Dr. Green

Recommendation: 5 leaves

For years I looked down my nose at both CBD (flower, oils, products, etc.) and the people using and advocating its use. In my eyes, CBD users were missing out on all the sexy fun, the twists and turns, and the enhancement that THC brings its user. CBD was for pretenders, for those people who blindly jump on diet bandwagons, sleep with crystals by their beds, and cleanse their bowels based on internet directions. Not for serious people. I was so very wrong.

The Citron CBD strain, grown and sold by Dr. Green, is like no other strain I have ever come across. Its buds are full, plush and mildly sticky. This is some of the highest quality bud that I have come across.  The odor, sweet and citrussy sour but still herby, is natural and pleasant. Indeed, grinding this bud is akin to walking in a lemon grove surrounded by a pine forest.

I vaped this bud starting at C 160, slowly raising the temperature to just under C 180. Thick clouds of flavorful vapor are created at low temperature, with tastes matching the odors: sweet, citrussy, piney and natural.  There are no artificial or candy tastes to this strain. I generally vape about .25 grams of THC to get its full effects for our reviews; with the Citron CBD I vaped closer to .5 grams—in part to continue enjoying the flavor, but also to bring on the full effects of the herb.

The effects are those of relaxation and a satisfied happiness, with only a faint reminiscence of being high and no hint of being stoned. There is a pleasant low pressure on the head which comes in slowly and gently, but it never develops into a full high and it leaves the user completely attentive and in control.  At the same time the herb slowly melts away the strain on the body from a long day replacing it with a relaxed and rested feeling. Sabai sabai, sababa. Four hours after I vaped the flower I drifted off to a long uninterrupted night of blissful sleep.

As mentioned at the outset of this review, I did not expect to like CBD, but I loved Citron CBD. The bud is exquisite, beautiful to see, touch and take in. It is not a replacement for THC and THC rich strains. However, it is a being unto itself and has a particular place in our herb rotation. It is perfect if you want to smoke and relax but not get high—to continue working throughout a day. It is also perfect as a next day recovery from a particularly heavy THC session. This is a bud which we fully recommend our readers experience.
