Gunpowder Milkshake looks beautiful with a deep purple base covered in pale orange light green hairs and faded yellow fuzz. Its aromas are surprising, spiced pipe tobacco and peaty whiskey scents with an added accent of pine with a dry pull. The bud’s flavor is strong dominated by a cherry wood tobacco taste with a spiced finish. These aromas and flavors are rare these days may require an acquired taste.
The bud’s high is as different as the taste and aroma. An overwhelming dreamy and flighty high kicks in quickly spreading in waves deep into the body. I thought for sure that I was hit by a strong indica which would lead me quickly to a comfy couch and sleep. But the overwhelming nature of the high subsides mellows into a warm hug of a high, comforting, awake but not alert, comfortable, chill, with the added feeling of relief after the initial overwhelming waves.
Gunpower Milkshake is not appropriate for novice users. It is a trip—a ride on a bucking bronco which eventually settles into a docile pony—but the initial overwhelming effects may scare novice users. Experienced users who look for adventures in their highs and unique, rare woodsy and earthy flavors and aromas will appreciate the character of this bud. This is definitely a bud like no other.
