Grower: Tropical Thunder Farm with Pistachio Esso

Rating: 4.4

It has been three weeks since I smoked weed for pleasure. The previous three weeks were spent judging 50 strains for the Phuket Cannabis Cup—with a week of international travel crammed in between. It was an amazing experience—but man did I miss smoking weed for pleasure. To reward myself for such hard work I followed my nose through my queue of strains and landed on King Kush. I was not disappointed.

King Kush has a stanky, sweet, berry and sour odor which smells like good sex. The flavor is strong with sweet candy grape and spices with a satisfying dark berry aftertaste. The purple green bud is sticky, covered in crystals and tons of red orange hairs—it looks like a Christmas ornament.

King Kush is a creeper. The initial effects are light and heady—but the slowly but progressively get much stronger, deep into the body, for a full, relaxed and eventually sleepy high. A strain to fall asleep to.

King Kush is excellent and is appropriate for experienced users who understand and can anticipate the effects of a creeper strain. Novice users should use the bud with caution—but use it nonetheless with the understanding that the bud’s effects come on slow but strong.
