Grower: Eighty Six Cannabis Company

Rating: 4.6

Eighty Six Cannabis packages their flowers in vacuum seals. Normally upon receipt of a package of flowers with resealable packages I open them all and take a deep whiff as a sort of foreshadowing treat to get an idea of what is ahead of me. But with Eighty Six Cannabis it is usually a surprise and I have to follow my understanding of the strain rather than my nose when selecting a bud. I selected Red Chili Truffle because of its aesthetics as I was unfamiliar with the strain. This one is a beauty, a plump and dense deep green bud with orange brown hairs and white crystally dusting. But the looks don’t hold a candle to the amazing and unique fragrance and taste of Red Chili Truffle. Opening the vacuum sealed bag I was blissfully hit by a strong spicy sour sweet berry aroma. A dry pull revealed the red hot flavor of candied cinnamon. Once lit the bud burns smooth with flavors of a sweet chili dessert—similar to the after taste in a high quality chili infused dark chocolate bar. This may be the spiciest bud I have tried with actual “hot” flavors and odors. I love it.

Red Chili Truffle has a hybrid sativa high with thoughtful, slowly ambitious, and collected effects. The bud hits the head first with gentle and pleasant pressure before gradually moving into the body for a gentle relaxing buzz. For me the bud was good for slow thoughtful work and conversation—but it gave my wife a bit of a buzz and shot of giddy energy. The high is an ideal afternoon one—productive and with enough energy to get things done—but with enough of a relaxing feel to allow the user to slow down and enjoy the surroundings.

I highly recommend Red Chili Truffle to experienced users. Its unique flavors and aromas are like nothing I have experienced and highlight just how unique a particular bud can be. The bud is not overpowering and the high is appropriate for novice users, however I would urge novice users to try a few of the classics and understand the difference in tastes and flavors before coming to Red Chili Truffle. This is not your typical bud.
