Dispensary: Phuket High

Rating: 4.4 leaves

It hard to pass on a strain called “Tom Yum”. To recreate the flavor of one the world’s most delicious dishes would truly be feat. At the end of the day, while the bud does not taste exactly like Tom Yum (and who could really expect this?) it does capture much of its essence. In fact this strain’s taste has a very close resemblance to kafir leaf—the citrussy and menthol leaf which flavors so many Thai foods and snacks. The odor is citrussy sour and candy sweet. The bud itself is super green, covered in white dust and crystals with little green hairs sticking out with a moderate denseness.

Tom Yum starts off like a sativa with high energy, alertness and focus with a moderate high.  This moderate sativa beginning slowly drifts through the body, becoming more relaxing and less energetic and alert, until the user is gently lulled to sleep. Tom Yum is a creeper. It starts off high and happy and gently, gently, gently bring you down into a mild stoned slumber.

The strong kafir taste of Tom Yum is reason alone to try this strain.  Both novice and experienced users will appreciate the taste—and both will enjoy the slow drift from a sativa high to an indica stoned and sleepy state. Novice users should, however prepare for these effects. Make sure you end your night somewhere soft and comfortable. Tom Yum is the slow but steady route to sleepytown.
