Dispensary: Fat Buds

Rating: 4.5

I do not believe this is the first time that Blue Dream has been covered in these pages. Blue Dream is consistently one of my favorite strains—even though it does not necessarily fit the profile of what I look for in a bud—and even though I find this to be one of the most inconsistent strains out there. Nonetheless, each variation I have had of Blue Dream usually hits all the buttons. This bud from Fat Buds did not disappoint.

The Blue Dream which landed on my lap was a deep dark green bud covered in little lights dusty hairs. Rather than the berry odor I am used to, this variation had a deeper citrussy flavor somewhat reminiscent of a pack of tropical life savers. The flavor when smoked was of a sweet lime cordial.

A deep heady high sinks in immediately when smoked, so much so that the user understands that becoming stoned is inevitable. One after another, waves of heady effects come across pulling the user deeper and deeper under the bud’s influence. The body remains fully functional—but the head is fully detached, floating in space. Previous variations of the bud have taken me on a sativa to indica trip—this one felt purely sativa.

Blue Dream is a neo-classic—it has been around long enough to warrant a reputation—though its consistent inconsistency sets it as a constant mystery (try saying that three times fast). Experienced users will understand and welcome the variations in the bud—while novice users will learn that sometimes growing is an art and that cannabis plants can be finicky. We recommend Blue Dream for everyone.
