Grower: High Society with Ganjana

Many tears, mostly mine, have been shed over HighSociety’s Captain Kush. The original Captain Kush that High Society shared with me was straight off the vine and it was amazing. That one, unfortunately, has disappeared—and I was provided another pheno after weeks of bitching and moaning. This pheno—while not as good as that original one—is still pretty damn good. A bud I would happily smoke every day. High Society grows clean high-quality buds and this pheno of Captain Kush is no different. The bud starts with a gassy/skunky essence which is enhanced by a sweet earthy, pine, nutty barely and citrus aroma. The flavor matches the old school scent with a mildly sweet and peppery aftertaste which stays with the consumer. Captain Kush is a real lip smacker, though the original pheno had a good dank fruitiness which is absent here.
The bud delivers an excellent, strong and balanced high—soothing the body while stimulating the mind and appetite. Muscles are relaxed, pain is mitigated, feelings are elevated and thoughts turn introspective and profound. This is an excellent high—one I really appreciate (along with the flavor and aroma)—the bud both relaxes and allows the consumer to mentally (if not physically) engage with the world.
A week or two ago I reviewed Adios MF x Mexican Flan—I really love that bud and it still sticks out in my mind as perhaps the best I have tried in 2024. Captain Kush very much reminds me of that bud—it is still not at that level, but it is approaching and has that potential. I have the feeling that the boys at High Society with Ganjana’s help will elevate it to that level soon. For now, I highly recommend this bud to all and am excited to see their next harvest!
