I tried to lure Mrs. Mendel in for a cheeky smoke and figured that Cherry Pie would be the right bud for the job. From both flavor and aroma there is no missing the cherry in Cherry Pie. The bud has tart, sour candy cherry aromas with some Americanesque artificial candy fruit fumes. The sourness—a trait I find alluring—was at first off putting for Mrs. Mendel. The flavor is sweeter than the aroma but with the minty cherry strong taste of a cherry cough drop. The flavor stays true for about ¾ of a joint and then starts getting earthy and more bitter towards the end. Mrs. Mendel enjoyed the cherry sweetness and proclaimed the flavor superior to the aroma.
Cherry Pie has a buzzy, energetic high allowing for thought and contemplation. I did not find the bud to be particularly euphoric or relaxing—but rather more workmanlike, focused, and creative. Indeed, I would recommend Cherry Pie to experienced consumers who are executing work, problem solving, engaged in discussion and otherwise need an aid in getting things done. Novice users should be encouraged to try the bud for its strong and pleasant aromas and flavors—but should be aware that the buzzy high may lead to anxiety for those unaccustomed to engaging cannabis.
