Dispensary: Sukhumweed

Rating: 4.3 leaves

I smoked a pre-rolled Khalifa Kush joint at Sukhumweed while reviewing the dispensary and interviewing owner Beer Masayavanich for HighThailand. The strain was recommend by Sukhumweed’s knowledgeable bud tender and was the right bud for the job.

As this was a pre-roll, I cannot go into detail regarding the aesthetics of the bud itself (the joint itself was well rolled). However, the essence and taste were good. A dry pull on the joint revealed odors and “mouth smells” of lemon and herbs.  Once lit, the joint produces a smooth piney smoke with a sour aftertaste.  A very solid flavor.

The effects were productive and effective.  While conducting the interview I was focused, alert, energetic, logical and clear, happy and relaxed. There is virtually no body high with this strain; all effects are focused on the head. I was able to function fluently, and efficiently with no stress and no pressure, but enjoyment and engagement.

Khalifa Kush is a long-lasting sativa leaning hybrid. I found very little evidence of any indica influence and would compare this strain very closely to the classic green Green Crack strain previously reviewed in these pages.

Khalifa Kush is a solid sativa (hybrid?) strain.  It is (and was) perfect for getting work done with focus and low stress. I would recommend the strain to novice users who are looking for a solid introduction to the world of focusing strains. For experienced sativa fans, I would recommend that this strain be used primarily for working and focus. This bud is very similar to a role player on a basketball team, it is excellent at its one purpose—but will not be the star of the team.
