Grower: Medicana Lab

Rating: 4.7

There is something awe inspiring and perhaps almost intimidating about Medicana’s buds. Purple Thai, the first Medicana bud I tired, is one of the most beautiful sativas I have ever come across. From an aesthetic point of view the bud captures all the scraggly, raw, and wild characteristics of native sativa, but in the most cultivated, manicured, and presentable way possible. The bud, a deep dark purple with pale orange green hairs, has a slight springy denseness within its bush body. When broken up, the but leaves a fragrant and pungent stickiness of sweet dark fermented berries on the fingers. The flavor of the bud is of sweet kosher wine, similar to Manischewitz, fermented candied grapes.

Purple Thai feels like a pure sativa. The bud has energizing, uplifting, creative, enhancing and very engaging effects. The high itself is fairly mild—but the focused effects are strong. I wish I had some now as I write this. Purple Thai is a laborer’s bud—one which would be appropriate for early mornings through the entire working day—espresso in a joint (but much more delicious).

Purple Thai is highly recommended for both novice and experienced users. Experienced users will appreciate the focus and enhancing effects of the bud. Novice users will be able to learn about the focusing effects of cannabis—and how to use the plant in everyday productive means. This will be one of the my top go to buds for day time use.
