There is a lot going on in Red Velvet Ice Cream. It took a bit of manipulation, but after a bit of heavy petting the bud emits a hoppy nutty, herby aroma which continues to develop with sour sweet cream cheese and hints of dark chocolate. A dry pull seems to emphasize this with an herbal chocolate “mouth smell”. The flavor picks up on some of the bittersweet of chocolate but moves in a very herbal direction, with a strong soapy flavor of Vietnamese coriander (rau răm), which is incredibly refreshing and enjoyable but a departure from the aroma.
The bud has a relaxing and euphoric high which will heighten the senses and leave the consumer happy to be alive. I smoked the bud on a balcony while listening to Songkran revelers frolicking around the corner. Happy to hear them and happier not to be with them.
I highly recommend Red Velvet Ice Cream to experienced users who are looking for a relaxed, chill and happy evening. The aroma is sweet and desert like—but the flavor heads in another direction which I really enjoyed. Novice consumers may be a bit shocked by the flavor—but it is an educating shock with a very nice high.
