This is the second time I am trying Greenhill Organic’s Runtz x Layer Cake—and this harvest’s buds are so different that I didn’t even realize that I had sampled this cultivar before. The bud is super funky, dominated by an over ripe and almost overwhelming orange aroma with just the hint of candy. The flavor, similar to the aroma, comes on strong with ripe funky oranges, softened a bit with an artificial cherry candy taste and finished with a pepper and bitter herbs.
The high is similar to the previous harvest, starting engaged, focused, thoughtful, pondering, with a heady high. That high does shifts into a dreamy, spacey and mind-numbing state—negating any creativity or ability to function.
The bud is strong in both flavor and high. It is probably too strong for novice consumers, but a couple puffs won’t hurt. Experienced users who are into strong orange flavors will appreciate this bud—I was happy that the Runtz flavors were subdued as I am tired of the Runtz—but those consumers looking for the Runtz will have to dig very deep to find it in this bud.
