Special Reserve Cookies III is my biggest surprises and one of my favorite strains of 2023. I love everything about this plump and colorful bud: flavor, taste, high, and appearance. EightySix Cannabis tends to manicure more on the natural side than close in—giving SRC3 more of a 1980s aesthetic than a waxed modern look. This sophisticated wildness adds to the charm of the bud with its multi-hued greens and oranges hairs hanging out for everyone to see an admire.
SRC3 has the strongest strawberry flavors and odors I have experienced in my cannabis life. The bud’s odor is of sweet, dried strawberries mixed with cream—with a pointed tartness which fills the nostrils when ground. Flavors of strawberry jam and syrup and an earthy aftertaste coat the mouth with a taste which will not be matched by any subsequently devoured munchy.
SRC3’s high is a journey—which starts engaged, alert, happy, energized, and active. That heady seemingly productive feeling quickly melts from the brain into the body—becoming a highly euphoric, relaxed, chill, more social than productive, more luxurious than utilitarian, high which is just so very enjoyable. I have a small stash of keeper samples which I put away for a rainy day (or to correct the effects of a disappointing sample)—SRC3 has secured a place within that stash.
SRC3 is a bud that every experienced user should get their hand on and wrap their lips around. The flavors, aromas and high are unique, extraordinary, and highly enjoyable. Novice users, however, should build an appreciation for the many facets, flavors, and different characteristics of cannabis before trying this very special flower. SRC3 is extraordinary and cannot be approached without a certain level of education and appreciation.
