Grower: Four Twenty

Rating: 4.5

I toured the Four Twenty growing facilities and had the privilege of seeing all their upcoming strains (including the Runtz) close to harvest.  At the conclusion of the tour Tai was kind enough to roll a nice fat J filled with some of the Runtz which were still not mature enough to be put in the public. I enjoyed the bud and promised not to review it (FYI, that J was really nice even though it wasn’t ready). Weeks later I received the real deal—dried, cured and ready for its day in the sun and for sure that bud was ready for prime time. These Runtz are super candy sweet and sour with American artificial fruit odors and candy cherry flavors. The smoke is incredibly rich, thick and creamy and it is an absolute delight to blaze a J filled with this sticky sweet bud. A sure treat for those who go for candy strains.

The high is a strong heady feeling—pressure around the eyes and forehead with a good slowdown in the body.  The Runtz does not sedate the mind and body but it brings everything into a controlled speed. Users will be left in a happy stupor—stumbling around with a giggly smirk on their face as they contribute little to society other than perhaps an infectious smile and chatty gibberish.

I highly recommend the Runtz to experienced users. Indeed, as I write these words I am contemplating smoking this bud once more tonight (though I probably will end up trying something new). Novice users should probably stay away as the bud is strong, slightly brain numbing in a way which may be surprising and unexpected for virgins.
