There is no shortage of amazing weed in Thailand. While writing this article, I’m also working my way through 80 entries for the Terps of Life competition in Chiang Mai. The level of those buds is awesome—and I keep slowing myself down by returning to the buds for second looks and smokes and personal enjoyment. This was not the case in the previous cups and is an amazing indication of how far growers in Thailand have come with their craft. Indeed, the buds which are sent to HighThailand for review are also on a much higher level than that which we have seen in previous years. Though we also note that the number of novice and growers trying to get into the game seems to be receding, as we do not receive buds from “beginners” anymore. While it may seem strange to complain about only getting the best weed in Thailand, we like to help new growers with candid pointers and thoughts on their grow on a private basis for buds which are not good enough to be reviewed. In other words, don’t be shy, we are here to help and build not tear down.

For the most part 2025 was about tried and true growers getting better at their craft and in some cases their signature buds. Drops of Subzero Cherry Bomb from Green Space (the only orange terp bud I look forward to) or Amnesia from Newbarn Farms, both amongst my favorites, are highly anticipated, appreciated and now expected. Still a few new (to HighThailand) growers introduced themselves to us in 2025 and are now part of our extended family. The following is a highly subjective and short recap of my personal favorites from 2025.

Candy Pavé by Canis Major: Canis is still the gold standard in Thailand, and in reality all of his buds (Fire’n’Ice a close second) could make this list. But my favorite of his grows is Candy Pavé which has gone through several fascinating iterations. From 2025 this bud was layered in pine, citrus, and menthol with deep stress relief and introspection without sedation.

Girl Scout Gucciz by Choki Choki Boi 420: I conversed with Choki Choki Boi 420 throughout the year and he gave me a heads up about the buds he was growing. When I finally received those buds at the very end of the year they left me in awe. Each of his 4 buds was a highlightable experience, but my absolute favorite was Girl Scout Guccis. That bud is exceptionally aromatic and flavorful, with sweet, woodsy, minty, and nutty notes that deliver a clean, seductive experience. The high is uplifting, engaging, and pain-relieving, gradually transitioning to deep happy relaxation.

Medellin by White Labs Thailand: White Labs became a perennial favorite in 2025 with a list of buds which could be listed here (Mendecino Skunk in particular). Their Medellin which made me realize just how special this grower is and put them squarely on our radar. The bud features a complex aroma of grassy, peaty, peppery, and herbal notes with layers of pine and wood, delivering a nuanced and ever-evolving flavor profile. The high is focused and motivating while relaxing the body, perfect for experienced consumers who appreciate subtlety and productivity in their cannabis experience.
My Medellin by White Labs Thailand Review

Big-Z by Humble Gardens Farms: I love these guys. Both as growers and as people. They put their all into everything they do, including their buds, and it really shows. Most of their grow could make this list (I almost went with Evil as Fuck), but their Big-Z left a great impression on me. Big-Z is a potent bud with a bright green apple aroma and flavor, complemented by vanilla and deep herbal notes. The high is intensely heady and trippy, and is solely recommend to experienced consumers who can handle and enjoy the otherworldly effects.
My Big-Z by Humble Gardens Farms Review

Bud of cannabis, with green, purple, and tan hues, against a wooden surface.
Scratch ‘n Sniff by Chronic Organics: Another grower with multiple excellent buds. Scratch ‘n Sniff is impossible to ignore and is of the highest level with a bold citrus and yuzu aroma, and flavors evolving from sweet fruit loops to savory chive cream cheese and herbal gas. The high starts off chill and social, then intensifies to a strong, floating, and tingling state.
My Scratch ‘n Sniff by Chronic Organics Review

Yellow Mermaid by Canna Catz: Canna Catz are some really cool, fun and great developing growers. I have really enjoyed experiencing their buds—they have the benefit of some great guidance from one of the best Thai growers out there. They initially caught my attention with their Baby Yoda, but their Yellow Mermaid is the bud I love to smoke over and over for my own personal enjoyment. That bud is delicious, aromatic with intense candy, berry, and citrus flavors, complemented by floral, gassy lavender and grape notes. The high is extremely strong and deeply relaxing.
My Yellow Mermaid by Canna Catz Review

Chitown Slurry by Thai Kush: Old friends of HighThailand, in 2025 Thai Kush made us deliciously aware of G.O.A.T. Genetics and some of their awesome genetics all grown here by Thai Kush. I loved their Goat Glue, but still dream of Chitown Slurry, a uniquely aromatic bud that transforms from an initially eyebrow raising, rotten fruit scent to enticing notes of skunk, cheese, garlic, and spices, with a complex, savory flavor profile. The high delivers soaring euphoria, deep relaxation, pain relief, and restful sleep.
My Chitown Slurry by Thai Kush Review

Cheetah Piss by Real Terp Boyz: I’m less familiar with these gents than some of the other growers on this list but was super impressed by how different their grow is and how it stands out for its excellence and quality. Cheetah Piss was my favorite with ever evolving flavors—starting with sweet orange, then revealing pineapple, lemon, pepper, and cake, all wrapped in a constantly changing citrus and herbal menthol profile. The high is clear, energized, and euphoric, gradually relaxing the body and mind.
My Cheetah Piss by Real Terp Boyz Review

Mac N Cream by Eclipse Genetics: another excellent grower from the glorious north. Mac N Cream emits a rich, nutty, earthy aroma with a flavor journey from sweet pine and nuts to savory herbs, garlic, and creamy cheese, ending with menthol and pepper notes. The high is deeply relaxing and balanced, awakening the senses without drowsiness.
My Mac N Cream by Eclipse Genetics Review

Cannabis bud on a wooden surface with a carved leaf and a heart shape.
Limelight by Terpie Garden: We have been watching and smoking Terpie since day one and are always curious to see what he comes through with. His Limelight was my favorite of his with loud, tart, and sweet aromas of citrus, melon, guava, and pine, matched by a honey-sweet, tropical flavor and smooth herbal finish. The high is energizing and pain-relieving, providing clear focus and relaxation.
My Limelight by Terpie Garden Review

Honarable Mentions and Superlatives:

Most Improved Grower: Rach Rollers, these guys have really upped their game in 2025 going from decent and dependable growers to growing some real fire as they continue to approach the higher levels of growers in Thailand. I always know I will get a good dependable bud from these guys and very much appreciate what they have to offer.

Most Missed Grower: Astro Farms, packed up and said goodbye (for now?) to the market focusing on other aspects of the business. Their grow was always clean, flavorful with awesome highs and full on experiences. There is a hole left behind by Astro Farms—my preference is that it is refilled by Astro Farms.

Best Brick: Alpine Strawberry by Golden Temple, without a doubt my man is going into some phenomenal and unique cures of his incredible buds resulting in beautiful results. My favorite is his Alpine Strawberry brick, with a delicious strawberry cream and green hoppy flavor and a high which left me locked in place, alert but paralyzed.
